Are you looking for photo wallpaper but can't make up your mind? It’s true that there are many different types of photo wallpaper. Not only can you choose from different materials such as paper photo wallpaper and non-woven photo wallpaper, but also from hundreds of themes and motifs. From mysterious forests to modern design wallpaper as well as fun themes like Disney wallpaper for children? The wallpaper is also available in different sizes. Of course it’s important to know the exact size of your wall when choosing photo wallpaper. Photo wallpaper consists of several rolls…the number of rolls depends of course on the size of your wall. Which type of wallpaper fits best in a certain room? In this blog, I’d like to help you to decide by highlighting our top five most popular themes and giving tips on which type of wallpaper fits best in a certain room.

1. Nature wall murals

Are you a nature lover and do you want to give your home a natural look? Then photo wallpaper with a nature motif is a perfect choice for you. The choice is huge, nature has a lot to offer. Animals, plants, mountains, forests and beautiful landscapes. Nature wall murals bring so much life to your rooms - as a living room, bedroom or even bathroom wallpaper. With wall murals of nature images such as forest, lake and mountain landscapes in your bedroom you can relax completely. Do you want your living room wall to really stand out? Then choose, for example, wallpaper with a wood motif, or wallpaper with a stone or slate effect. Take note of the size of the pattern when choosing paper for your nature wall murals... for smaller living rooms it’s best to choose wallpaper with a small pattern so that it doesn’t look too busy. For small rooms, it’s also best to choose light colors. Dark colors make the room look smaller.

2. Floral wall murals

Wallpaper with a floral motif is timeless and fits seamlessly into any interior. Floral wall murals don't always have to be natural and romantic. Floral motifs are also uniquely fascinating in abstract collages: flowers as if painted in watercolor, geometric shapes interspersed with floral scrolls or classic black and white floral motifs establish creative accents. Abstract displays of flowers and blossoms also come into their own in a modern, minimalist apartment. Make your bedroom romantic by choosing subdued floral designs with few flowers and few colors. In the living room, on the other hand, you can use striking colors. You can also opt for more brightness and striking motifs for your floral wall murals.

Choose a photo wallpaper, be inspired and informed

Before you choose photo wallpaper, it’s very important that you know what you’re looking for. First of all, think about what kind of atmosphere you want to create in the room. Small prints for a subtle effect or large prints to make an impression. It’s also important to consider what effect you want the wallpaper to have… more space, tranquillity or more atmosphere. Make sure you measure the wall properly before ordering photo wallpaper. For photo wallpaper with motifs, it’s especially important that you check in advance whether it will suit the wall you’re going to wallpaper.

Here are some handy tips that you can use when wallpapering:
1. Prepare the surface: The wall on which the photo wallpaper is pasted must be smooth, free of grease, dry and clean, just as with normal wallpaper. For a nice, clean result, we advise you to also remove old wallpaper and not to paste wallpaper over wallpaper. Tip: make sure that the surface is light and has an even colour so that it cannot shine through. The desired temperature in the room is between 18 and 21ºC so that the wallpaper does not dry too quickly and therefore come away from the wall. Draw a vertical line on the wall so that your wallpaper does not hang crooked.
2.Prepare the paste: Use paste that is suitable for application to the wall and suitable for non-woven wallpaper.
3.Apply the paste: Apply the paste directly to the wall with a wallpaper roller (for non-woven wallpaper). Preferably paste one or two strips ahead, so that the paste does not dry out prematurely.
4. Wallpapering: Apply the strips carefully. Do you have any air bubbles? Smooth them out with a spatula or a pressure roller. You can poke large air bubbles with a pin and small air bubbles often disappear when they dry. Tip; use a wallpaper seam roller for an even smoother finish.

Hopefully these tips can help you choose the 'perfect' photo wallpaper.
