The Dadaist and Surrealist photographer Man Ray
Emmanuel Radnitzky better known as Man Ray was a Jewish-American Dadaist and surrealist photographer. Together with his friend Marcel Duchamp, he founded the American branch of the Dada movement. The Dada movement started in Europe as a rejection of traditional art. Eventually Ray could no longer live in New York and chose to move to Montparnasse in Paris. Over the next 20 years of living there, Ray led a photography revolution. Man Ray moved to New York where he came from. But eventually he returns to Montparnasse. This felt like his home. This is also where Man Ray was eventually buried.
